This position is available in New Orleans or Baton Rouge, Louisiana. In this role, you will be responsible for Energy and Power Solutions Group related design work for varied municipal and private clients including power generation and distribution, combined heat and power, and utility distribution on multiple projects of various sizes. Here’s What You’ll Be Doing:Electrical system analysis, design, equipment procurement, construction support, and commissioning support related to electrical systems for power generation applicationsElectrical system analysis and design of project power system interconnection to utility power system and associated equipmentSmart device, also commonly referred to as intelligent electronic device (IED), integration into electrical systems designEquipment specifications, procuring, and factory acceptance testing engineered electrical equipment including switchgear, transformers, electrical system control equipment, and various other electrical systems elements as required for project designSystem modeling and calculations including lightning protection, grounding, load flow, voltage drop, short circuit, and arc flash analysisProtective relaying schemes including development of coordinated relay settings and automation for advanced networked electrical protection systemsDevelopment of construction document packages including required specifications and drawings that will be utilized for bidding and constructionCommunication and coordination with Client, Contractors, and outside partiesGrowth into supervision of design and production team resourcesB.S. (minimum) in Electrical Engineering is requiredProfessional Registration (P.E.) is requiredDetailed experience in the development, design, procurement, engineering support of construction, and engineering support of commissioning of heavy electrical, utility and heavy industrial, power systems; medium voltage experience, at a minimum, is requiredIdeally, you’ll also have:Industrial power plant electrical systems evaluation and design; related experience in chemical, petroleum, and other heavy industrial process plants is acceptableHeavy industrial substation design, including relay protection and utility interface interconnection and agreements with utility companiesProtection system design, including associated IED automation with demonstrated experience configuring IEDs in native IED syntaxElectrical system modeling using ETAP, SKM, or similar modeling softwareTask lead experience including scope and fee development, and project execution while meeting established schedule and budget requirementsAbility to direct the production of design packages using design automation tools such as 3D AutoCAD, Revit, or equivalentDesign for turbine generator electrical system in excess of 10MWSome travel required
