The Agricultural Engineer will also develop processes for feed mill operations, design and support dispensing systems, and provide technical support service to our customers.Essential FunctionsEquipment Design and ManufacturingResponsible for developing hardware and control solutions for dispensing products.Develop and maintain efficient equipment assembly and test procedures in manufacturing.Create mechanical and electrical drawings using Solidworks.Research, design, and implement improvements to existing and new equipment/control processes.Test and verify accurate machine operation with new products. Work directly with manufactures on new products.Feed Mill ProjectsResponsible for developing automation processes and control solutions for beef and dairy feed mill operations.Provide technical support and consulting to customers on feed batching and mill operation.Develop batcher and mill operational specifications for control system development.Provide on-site support for installation and support of control solution projects.Coordinate with contractors on mill changes. For this position being on-call is required.Minimum Qualifications: • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent experience.• 3-5 years of mechanical/electrical experience.• Mechanical/electrical design and drafting abilities using Solidworks software.• Proven ability in process design and automation systems development.• Proven ability in process analysis, problem solving, and implementing solutions in a production environment.• Extensive experience in weighing systems, PLC systems, motor drives (frequency/DC), and other industrial automation devices.• Demonstrated success in prioritizing and time-management.• Oral or written communication skills.• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.• Proficiency with office productivity tools such as Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
