Geomechanics and Seismicity Geoscientist

Responsibilities:The selected candidate will support both asset and water resource teams. The primary responsibility of this person is to manage and interpret datasets regarding induced seismicity. These include private and public seismic arrays, injection models, water injection volumes and 3D seismic data. This candidate must be able to communicate effectively both internal executives as well as external consortia and governing bodies. Secondary responsibilities would include SWD well planning, permitting, drilling, and completions support. Major Functions and Scope:Monitor seismic activity and advise management on findingsActive involvement in SWD planning and risk mitigationAct as a liaison between asset, water resources, legal, and communications teamsUtilize geologic tools such as structural geology, geomechanics and seismic data to risk SWD locationsBuild fault slip potential models to evaluate SWD locationsActively involved in data acquisition, interpretation & application, including developing recommendations and justification for data acquisitionManage data bases and maps outlining SWD permits, critically stressed faults, recent seismic activity, and offset injection volumesActively participate and report back findings from industry consortiums and regulating bodiesEngage with SWD Operations team to understand ongoing field operationsMonitor offset operator disposal activityAct as a mentor to other team members on best practices around induced seismicityLikely to be called upon at night or weekends if activity necessitatesQualifications:MS Degree in Geology, Geophysics, or GeomechanicsStrong understanding of geomechanics requiredStrong understanding of seismicity monitoring requiredMust be able to present scientific concepts across a wide range of audiences both internal and external to EndeavorExperience with seismicity in other US Onshore basis a plusExperience building geomechanical models, 3D reservoir modelling, and/or seismic interpretation would be beneficialMust be a self-starter, motivated, with good organizational & reasoning skillsProficient in Microsoft Office Suite and willing to learn other computer applicationsExperience using Petra and/or Kingdom would be beneficialAbility to work effectively with cross-discipline professionals and individuals at all levels
