With an industry-leading team of in-house energy experts, we are a wholly-owned subsidiary of Canadian Solar Inc. and function as Canadian Solar’s global development and power services business.Position Title: O&M EngineerDepartment: O&MLocation: BrazilReports To: O&M ManagerResponsibilities:Create and coordinate equipment preventative maintenance schedules on solar farms for field technicians. Liaise with field technicians, maintenance sub-contractors and suppliers when troubleshooting system issues. Process work instructions / procedures, warranty claims, and all other documents related to work flow and record-keeping in the O&M department. Assist the Data Analyst team in analyzing performance data to determine performance trends and identify performance issues. Train field technicians, contractors and sub-contractors on equipment maintenance and operating procedures. Determine spare parts requirements and developing a software tracking system for spare parts. Oversee technical equipment issues as it relates to the system controls and equipment. Maintain computer and control systems including software updates and system testing and checking. Understanding of O&M contracts and CSOM’s responsibilities to meet the contract requirements.. Solid understanding of computer networks including configuration and management. Demonstrate a strong focus on equipment down time. Maintain documentation including drawings, OEM documentation, LOTO procedures, safety documentation, etc. as it relates to the solar farm installations. Ensure that all business activities are performed with the highest ethical standards and in compliance with the Canadian Solar Solution Code of Business Conduct. Adhere to all environmental, health and safety rules and policies. Conduct other duties as requiredRequirements: Minimum college diploma in Engineering Technology, or Engineering degree (electrical or software). Holds the Certificate and Register of the Electrical Engineer. Active CREA. Minimum 5 years plus work experience in a service environment, working with control systems that include controls systems, communication systems, switch gear and power generation hardware. Solar PV and HV experience is required. Software programming knowledge and expertise with systems such as SCADA systems, network systems and security software (an asset). Ability to read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, schematics, drawings, manuals, and specifications. Strong work ethic, positive team attitude and able to work in a fast-paced environment. Thermography Level 1 training certificate is desirable. Valid driver’s license. Ability to travel internationally (within LATAM). Electrical background in maintenance. Good written and verbal communication skills. Advanced English is required
