The Hardware Engineer is responsible for the specification, design and development and lifecycle management of all hardware and devices that run Caresyntax software applications. This role includes identifying, evaluating, and selecting 3rd part vendors and partners that manufacture hardware components required for the assembly of Caresyntax hardware and devices, or manufacture hardware and devices according to the specification defined by Caresyntax. This role is also responsible for creating Caresyntax EDGE hardware solution that uses and combines supporting infrastructure systems and 3rd party components and devices that are required to implement the overall solution of Caresyntax into the hospital environmentThis roles is responsible for the creation and maintenance of the technical documentation according to MDR and ISO13485 requirements for medical devices, by following SOPs for development and change control. Together with the hardware product manager, this role oversees the Caresyntax EDGE Solutions Product Catalogue and translate requirements from Software Engineering and Product Development into system designs, builds up prototypes, and does verification tests and/or supports partners for device certification. He works together with quality assurance and regulatory affairs departments to ensure compliance of devices to applicable standards and regulatory requirement. This person will collaborate strongly with the Team Lead of Manufacturing to design re-producible parts and assemblies, to the Technical Project Organisation (TPO) who gives input for infrastructure solutions design, and with the relevant Manager(s) of Software Engineering to design hardware solutions that optimize specific application and software workloads and performance.AufgabenOversee the product documentation of class 1 medical devices and 3rd party productsAnalyze requirements from company vision, customers, planners and other stakeholdersSpecify, design, and develop hardware devices according to the requirement of Caresyntax software as well as target EDGE compute environment Identify, evaluate and source hardware components or whole products from 3rd party vendors according to Caresyntax hardware specification and EDGE solution requirementExecute validation tests of Caresyntax Edge software on innovative hardware platformsProvide customer feedback to software engineering and hardware product manager to fine tune requirement. Manage change requests and development planning to SOPsMaintain and manage product catalogue and product lifecycleCollaborate with different departments that are related to products and solutionsQualifikationEducation:Engineering degree in Electronics, IoT, Media Technology, Systems Engineering or alike. Relevant work experience of at least three years -OR-5 years’ experience as electronics engineer, systems engineer, or media engineer with strong focus on systems development, prototyping and documentationKnowledge & SkillsExcellent communication skills. Deep analytical skills. Collaborative mindset. Experience with translating software and environmental requirement into hardware specification that optimizes the performance of Caresyntax EDGE software solution. Experience working with 3rd party hardware vendors. Experience executing stress/load tests of various hardware platforms. Knowledge of computing platforms including Intel™, Nvidia™, and others. Experience within medical device industry is a plus but not mandatory. Advanced knowledge of electrics / electronics, IoT and IT infrastructure and technologies. Strong knowledge of development methods and controlling, Kanban, Scrum, Jira, Confluence. Solid experience with professional Video and Audio technologies and interfaces. Knowledge of verification methods, testing, requirements to test case documentationFluency in German and English, both spoken and written. Good writing skills to support specifications and work instructions writing. Structured and organized with focus on quality and documentation.
