You will work closely with the material flow and manufacturing departments to steer the selection of the best packaging solutions and thereafter implement those during the launch and ramp-up of Gigafactory Berlin.What You'll DoLead end-to-end engineered packaging projects for Tesla Vehicle ProgramsInterface with Design Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, New Product Introduction, and Operations partners to gather and develop packaging requirementsPartner with Supply Chain and Logistics to drive projects to enable the most efficient delivery of parts possible without sacrificing part quality or manufacturabilityProvide design direction and development plans of protective packaging containers, dunnage and unique shipping racks – domestic and internationalMonitor KPI’s and work with Packaging Design Engineers to develop world-class packaging standards and continue to improve upon themDrive expendable to returnable projects and participate in sustainability initiativesAssist in vendor selection and vendor managementWhat You'll BringBachelor’s Degree, Master’s Degree, or advanced degree in packaging engineering, mechanical engineering, logistics or another related fieldWorking knowledge of CAD-software and technical drawingsFamiliarity with lean production principlesCapable of managing multiple priorities at once without sacrificing quality of resultsProficient at risk-management and communicationPreferably having experience with the design, development, and implementation of packaging projects in the automotive industry or for high-speed automated linesFluency in English and GermanWhat we offer:You will be working in our state-of-the-art Gigafactory where you’ll solve the world's most interesting problems with the best and brightest people who share a passion to change the world.
