Our passion for innovation, a pioneering spirit and the unique Puratos culture drive our solid growth and vision for the future This, along with our commitment to our local communities, is what makes working at Puratos so magical.To strengthen our team in Headquarters Grand-Bigard, we are looking for:R&D Manager Sunset Glaze (m/w/d)Your MissionYou will lead one of the strategic innovations of Puratos, Sunset Glaze, by managing its innovation pipeline, line extensions and renovation, by using state of the art technologies and being in-line with the business unit strategy.What You Will DoYou will manage the innovation of the product category Lead the development and the launch of breakthrough innovations under the brand of Sunset Glaze. Identify and prioritize the Innovation opportunities, in line with Puratos Group’s new purpose on health & well-being and sustainabilityUnderstand, research, identify and evaluate new, disruptive or emerging products, raw materials, ideas, technologies, processes, equipments and trends, in order to feed innovation and optimize existing products and technologies. Secure the competitive edge in collaboration with the Upstream innovation team (GRS) Work closely with the product manager(s) of the business unit and manage together the innovation cycle for Sunset Glaze through the Stage & Gate process Support the development and drive the implementation of Sunset Glaze innovations (and renovations) in the markets globallyIdentify the right partners to realize the Business Unit innovation strategy, by setting up research/innovation projects and maintaining an active external networkBe at the leading edge of technology and market novelties: be the expert on the latest innovations, evolutions and raw materials, technology, suppliers, legislation, market trends, competitors etc. Be close to customer and give support and/or training to overcome operational challenges You will be responsible for competence building & training Build knowledge and become the expert on ingredients functionality (e.g. proteins, starches), taking into account the UHT technology, the strategy of Puratos and of the business unit with focus on plan-based and sustainability, IP protection and the differentiation from competitors In collaboration with R&D colleagues, organize and supervise the training of both newcomers and advanced R&D managers on innovation, ingredients, formulations, IP protection, process and applications, in order to support and grow people’s development on the product categoryEnsure knowledge building, documentation and exchange, between headquarters and relevant stakeholders, in order to accelerate innovation and renovation projectsEnsure in-depth training and knowledge building of the Sunset Glaze champions on ingredients functionality and applications, and ensure global market and customer support What We Expect From YouAcademic degree, by preference in Bioscience Engineering or Food TechnologyRelevant experience of at least 5 years Languages: English, knowledge of Dutch and French is a plus ICT: Microsoft (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Word …) Willing to travel outside BelgiumPassionate about foodAbility to think out of the boxAbility to manage numerous projects simultaneouslyAble to work efficiently in a multi-cultural environment What You Can Expect From PuratosYou will join a fast-growing, stable family business that has become an international market leader with a corporate culture in which innovation and entrepreneurship are part of our main priorities.
