Full Job DescriptionThe Carpenter Apprentice will possess competency in the following areas to perform his/her role in a productive and safely manner:The main duty of the apprentice carpenter is to assist the carpenter or group of carpenters with the tasks required for forming and erecting wall form-work and deck form in work.The apprentice carpenter participates on the job training as well as classroom activity.The apprentice is required to maintain a tidy work site, managing the tools, supplying assistance to journeyman.Assists with constructing and stripping wood or metal form-work, using plywood/ 2×4 and metal panels.Cut wood to specified measurements.Operates drill/saw as required.Care for tools and equipment.Keeps materials stocked for journeyman.Develops knowledge thru field training and school training to become a journeyman. Job Requirements:The Apprentice Carpenter will possess the knowledge, skill and/or ability in the following areas essential to perform the functions of the position.High School diploma or GEDPossess Valid IDPrior experience in constructionAbility to comprehend documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedures manuals.Ability to read and use a tape measure and apply associated math skills.Must have the ability to exert heavy physical effort, handling average weight objects up to 60 pounds.Ability to kneel, stoop, crouch, balance, climb or crawl.Ability to tolerate heights without fear.Work involves exposure to outside weather conditions and dirt, dust, fumes, and/or loud noises.Able to work a flexible schedule, sometime early, late, and weekend as needed.Must have reliable transportation to be able to report to class and to constantly changing job sites.A record of exemplary attendance on the job is required.

Construction Foreman

Carpentry ForemanLocation: Bellingham, WAPay: Earn up to $35.00 per hour, depending upon experience. The pay increases after the probationary period and is contingent upon work ethic and performance.Schedule:  Day shift Monday-Friday; hours to be determined based upon the workload. The candidate will need to be flexible to work weekends as needed.Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: -Oversee projects ranging from commercial, residential, remodels, and restoration-Oversee up to 10 employees-Plan, organize and coordinate building projects from start to finish-Meeting with the supervisor to review projects, workload, weekly schedules, etc.-Assessing job priorities and assigning workers to tasks-Train new employees as they learn new tasks-Communicate with the supervisor regarding-Track & document all work & hours on Project(s)-Ensure jobs are completed on schedule and within budget-Other duties as assignedHow to be successful: -Knowledge to successfully operate power tools and equipment-Experience overseeing and managing-Capable of reading the full set of blueprints-Communicate effectively written, verbally and can give direction well-Prioritize workflow, and complete multiple tasks simultaneously and accurately-Detail-oriented and highly organized with proven follow-up capabilities-Utilizing appropriate math skills-A minimum of 2 years or more of experience as a construction foreman-Valid driver's license with reliable transportation-Flexibility to work on weekends and overtime as needed-Have your own tools-High school diploma or equivalent-Bachelor's Degree in construction management is preferred
