Scheduling manager - (Surgery)

Job Summary :

   The Surgery Scheduler schedules all surgical procedures and assures that all of the appropriate clinical and insurance coding information is collected for the surgery schedule. 

   Scheduler receives requests to schedule procedures from physicians and schedules the procedure according to established guidelines. 

   Scheduler provides accurate information so that all departments may view daily, and maintains open communication with hospital departments and physicians regarding schedule changes.

   Schedules surgery procedures and coordinates with proper vendors and ancillary services

   Answers the phones in a professional and courteous manner

   Coordinates medical clearance for patients and all required preoperative testing

   Communicates with physicians all data regarding surgery scheduling

   Obtains any insurance preauthorization prior to surgery

Qualifications :

   High School diploma or equivalent is required

   Previous experience as a surgery scheduler

   MEDENT experience

   Willingness to learn and work as a team member

   Excellent communication and organizational skills
