Job Description

We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Housekeeping Manager to lead our team at the Sebel Yarrawonga by overseeing the professional and cost effective running of the housekeeping department, ensuring high standards of cleanliness are achieved for guest rooms, public areas and back of house areas within the hotel whilst maximising profit without compromising on the vision and (as a minimum) delivering work on-time and on-budget.  

The Sebel Yarrawonga Silverwoods is a Cox Architecture designed 4.5 star, 63-room apartment hotel located on the point and surrounded 270 degrees by the waters of Lake Mulwala, the Murray Rivers largest lake. The Hotel is a family owned, professionally managed, Sebel franchise. Currently employing over 100 staff in Housekeeping, Food and Beverage, Front Office and Spa Departments.  

YOUR ROLE

  • Oversee the cleaning of guestrooms and public areas ensuring that standards of cleanliness and guest comfort are maintained in accordance with Hotel standards
  • Management of team members, rostering, assigning tasks, recruitment, training and performance monitoring.
  • Handling of enquiries, resolving complaints 
  • Continually provide efficient, friendly and professional services to all guests.
  • Be responsible for the handling of guest laundry and lost property in accordance with hotel policy
  • Ensure the security of keys, storerooms and guest bedrooms

SUCCESS FACTORS

  • Experience in a role managing a housekeeping team. 
  • Demonstrated passion for your role and the industry.
  • Previous experience controlling and maintaining budgets, all operating supplies, replacements and consumables.
  • Proven ability to lead and manage a team in compliance with safety, health, environment and quality legislative and company requirements with a commitment to zero-harm in the workplace.
  • Intermediate proficiency in computer systems, Microsoft Office, databases and ability to quickly learn and use business systems relevant to the role.
  • Demonstrate an ability to work as a collaborative hands-on team player or autonomously to achieve results supported by initiative and self-motivation.
  • Sound time management and ability to manage varied and conflicting demands to agreed standards and timeliness.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage with a diverse range of people
