Details:

You will use your background in engineering and combustion to predict combustion module/subsystem performance, including combustion analysis, thermal and heat transfer analysis, steady-state and transient analysis etc.

Responsibilities include

  • First-order hand calculations and bulk (1D) modeling prior to conducting FEA/CFD analysis as necessary
  • Create drawings for burner and/or heat exchanger experimental component/sub-assembly and other mechanical assemblies
  • Plan and conduct tests to prove out burner design concepts and verify designs for product
  • Utilize laboratory and field test data to correlate and validate analytical models
  • Interface with combustion module component suppliers
  • Assemble combustion test rigs, perform combustion experiments, and analyze test results
  • Support the evaluation of next-generation designs by the R&D and Engineering teams

  • What you need for this Position:
  • Bachelor' s degree (or higher) in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Physics, Chemical Engineering, or similar
  • Fundamental knowledge of combustion chemistry, thermodynamics, and fluid mechanics
  • Understanding of heat transfer (conduction, convection, and radiation) and mechanics of materials
  • Hands-on experience with planning and performing combustion experiments in a laboratory environment and theoretical/computational analysis, including basic CFD & FEA
  • Experience analyzing laboratory and field test data to correlate and validate analytical models
  • Some experience setting up laboratory test stands
