General Operative

The role involves manual labour dealing with day-to-day cleaning and maintenance of our metal recycling site in Liverpool.You must be able to work with minimal supervision and be able to follow instructions when given.Work of a differing nature may also be available in other areas of the site from time to time as part of the firms commitment to the training and development of its workforce.Hours of work: 7:45am to 5pm Monday to Friday.Competitive rates of pay and regular overtime available paid at premium rates.Key ResponsibilitiesKeeping to Health and Safety rules and complying with safe working practices at all timesWearing Personal Protective Equipment and Clothing in line with company policyConveyor belt pickingRemoving blockages from machinery as and when requiredKeeping areas clean and free from any hazards where and when instructedThe shovellingand cleaning of all waste materials and dirtMoving items with a Forklift as requested (must be suitably qualified)Maintenance of site buildings and surfaces when requiredTo carry out any additional duties that may be reasonably requested from time to timeTo comply with Company policies and procedures as defined in the Employee Manual and the post holders terms and particulars of employmentEssential SkillsThe ability to read signs, forms, instructions, manuals applicable to the roleDesirable SkillsGCSE grade D or above in English and Maths
