Find out how our values and unique position make Schneider Electric the employer of choice.Responsibilities:Electronic Component Engineer supports global Schneider Electric communities in the selection of Electronic parts that comply with corporate rules.This position is based in the Schneider Electric site located at the PIIT Technology Part in Monterrey Mexico, it involves some travel both within and outside of North America (5-10%).Specific responsibilities include:Support of global design teams in theDefinition of the critical parameters to select a component. Actual Selection of the component Verifying that components are compliant to application requirements and corporate rules (quality, supplier strategy, environmental, etc.).Identification & Management of Risks inherited to the selection. Investigating and promoting alternative solutions for ProductivitySupply Chain DisruptionsComponent Obsolescence Coordination with internal labs for component analysis as needed.Creating, maintaining, updating, and approving data in the component database Regular effective communication and coordination with the other TSM zones in China, Europe, and North America.Initiating and sustaining contacts with suppliers and manufacturers, and obtaining information on components (roadmaps, catalog, strategy, etc.). Contributing or leading and animating technical networks for electromechanical technologies.Writing, publishing, and maintaining intra-company technical guides and directives pertaining to component selection.Technology Scope : Electronic Passive ComponentsQualificationsQualificationsRequirements:Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE), or related engineering/technical discipline.Passive Components, Discrete Semiconductor Understanding1-5 years of experience in product design and/or component engineering.Demonstrated ability to work effectively in large multicultural teams.Strong communication skills.Ability to negotiate solutions to complex business and technical problems.Self-sufficient and proactive / Detail oriented Curious and capable of independent learning.Ability to travel internationally as required.Familiarity with regulations and standards such as RoHS, REACH, UL, NEMA, IEC, ANSI, …Contacts and experience with the electronic / electromechanical components marketplace and related manufacturers.MechatronicsDesired qualifications:Project Management and Product Evolution processes.Manufacturing experience.Experience with component search tools: IHS, Silicon Expert.Database ManagementAdvanced English skillsSchedule: Full-timeReq: 008RI9
