What To ExpectTesla is seeking a talented Senior Civil Engineer to join the multidisciplinary infrastructure team and contribute to a variety of master planning, site design, permitting, and many more for the new factory located in Santa Catarina, Nuevo Leon. A successful candidate will enjoy working in a fast-paced, dynamic workplace.What You'll DoPromote and protect Tesla’s reputation as a cutting-edge company producing the world’s most exciting cars and shifting the paradigm of personal transportation worldwideManage multiple projects throughout planning, design, bid, and construction phases.Define and plan project work scope, schedules, budget, and resource requirementsIndependently develop high quality civil engineering products including construction document drawings, specifications, narratives, calculations, and utilize and improve civil design standards and detailsReview drawings and proposals by vendors, engineers, and architects, and drive multi-disciplinary coordination. Present 30% 60% 90% model reviews to stakeholders and multi-discipline teamsEffectively and proactively communicate project needs, changes, and status to both internal and external team membersConduct meetings and coordinate permitting agencies to obtain jurisdictional approvals of civil engineering scopeWhat You'll BringBachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering, 7 years of hands-on experience in Mexico building high-tech/industrial infrastructure and operational facilities for vehicle manufacturing, semiconductor, solar, battery, or similar applications, or equivalentExperience in master planning including design of roadway, grading, pavements, utilities, traffic, stormwater management plans (flood control and stormwater quality), erosion and sediment control plans, project sites with multi-users and modes of transportation, and manufacturing operational constructionProficient in AutoCAD Civil 3D, as well as hydrology/stormwater management software for civil design and ability to produce construction documents for permitting and issuance for constructionAbility to multi-task and adapt to rapidly changing project requirements and timelines, work independently with minimal oversight; prioritize and manage multiple assignments; work with a diverse team and communicate effectively, and uphold the use of standards and escalate issues in a timely fashionDesire to do the impossible with a positive and professional “never quit” attitude, and demonstrates a creative problem-solving approach, ability to develop alternatives and innovative design solutionsExcellent written and spoken Spanish and English, additional European or Asian language a plusTesla
