Aspen Aerogels is a rapidly growing aerogel technology company founded in 2001 to capitalize on patented advances in aerogel manufacturing. Aspen has developed a proprietary aerogel material manufactured at scale and sold worldwide in the Electric Vehicle / Automotive, Construction, and Power Generation industries. Aspen is both a Tier 1/2 Automotive supplier and has its product in several subsea projects worldwide. We’re on a mission to build a world-class organization as we scale up our automotive business over the next 3-5 years and are looking for great talent to join our team.ResponsibilitiesPlan and lead the installation and sequencing of machines, works stations, tools, parts and supplies to optimize the efficiency of the production process.Guide or coach Engineers in preparing engineering process documentation.Coordinates with stakeholders to develop improvement plans which support established manufacturing methods, practices, and designsUses tools to gather information on current state conditions (cycle time, lead time, scrap rate, test results, etc.)Assists Design and Project Engineers, external customers, and manufacturing team members to resolve product level issues from production.QualificationsBachelor’s degree in EngineeringAdvanced EnglishAutomotive industry / IATF5 years of experienceCore ToolsSpecialized professional knowledge of the theory, principles, and practices of mechanical or industrial engineering in an industrial environment.Working knowledge of Solidworks, AutoCADor equivalent programs.Technical writing skills sufficient to prepare product specifications, test, and process documentation.Prior knowledge and practice with Lean Manufacturing, Just-in-Time, and Total Quality Management.
