We are proud to be playing a critical role in the net zero transition, as we aim to more than treble the net capacity in operation to 13GW and grow renewable energy output five-fold to over 50TWh over the next 10 years.Base Location: Lyon or Flexible France.Salary: Competitive depending on skills and experience + a range of other benefits to support your family, finances and wellbeing.Working Pattern: Permanent | Full Time | Flexible working options availableWhat is the Role?This is an exciting new role within our European business and will play a vital part in our Net Zero commitment and ambitious growth strategy, come and help us Power Change in Europe!!!You will join a Renewables business that will lead activities across several Southern European countries (Spain, France, Italy and Greece, but open to others in the future) with our major Hub in Spain. The working environment will be international, diverse, inclusive and in growth mode. The main objectives are to develop, build and own renewable energy plants – mainly Wind Technology but also Solar, Storage and Hydro across Europe to achieve our Net Zero commitments.As a Construction Site Manager, build, develop and lead a team of project/construction managers and take the lead role in planning, executing, monitoring, controlling, and handing over to Operations out a Portfolio of Onshore Renewable Construction Projects throughout Europe ensuring that all projects are delivered safely, in a timely and cost-effective manner and to a high standard in line with SSE's framework.Some Of Your Main Accountabilities May IncludeLead a team of project professionals, with responsibility for performance management, training, and ongoing development of team members.Responsibility for the safe and efficient on-site execution of projects on schedule, within budget, and to defined quality standards. Effectively manage Project Delivery Risks & Opportunities in line with the SSE Governance framework.Manage all project resources, processes, systems, and controls and accurately and timeously report on projects.To ensure that prior to issue all Construction contracts are robust and that scope of works, risk, quality, cost and programme requirements are clearly defined and understood and align with the project Business Case and that the project teams effectively manage the contracts during construction.Maintain an effective communication with all construction projects, senior management, consenting, engineering ,finance, legal, procurement, etc to ensure that there is consistency in the way we deliver projects across the portfolio and that senior management have sufficient visibility of the portfolio to maintain confidence in project delivery and resolution of issues. Build excellent relationships with key external stakeholders including statutory consultees and key local community leaders.The ability to adhere to, understand and advocate the highest standards of Health and Safety legislation and practices and to lead the Safety Culture during constructionMonitoring and reporting to Senior Management Team (Construction Senior Manager & Head of Technical Office) the projects progress, risks, opportunities, issues, key decisions, and financial performance on a monthly basis and be able to takeWhat do I need?To be considered for this role, we would love you to have:Business Knowledge Significant knowledge of Project Management processes and practices, including business case, cost, quality, programme, and RiskSignificant knowledge of Health and Safety legislation and practices.Significant knowledge of commercial drivers for major infrastructure projects, including the Business Case for the project.Significant knowledge of Project Governance systems and proceduresSignificant knowledge of tendering, negotiating and management of contracts and the use of contract forms such as NEC/FIDIC.Good knowledge of construction planning managementSignificant knowledge of electrical protocols with ENEDIS and/or RTE for operational licencing of the PlantsEssential Functional / Technical SkillsEducated to degree level in Engineering – Ideally - Electrical – other degrees such as Civil & Mining & Telecoms are adequate .Experience in construction and commissioning large Renewable Energy Projects, with a proven track record in Wind and, ideally Solar PVDemonstrates significant project management expertise and understanding of major projects delivery e.g. project definition and set up, planning, cost, risk, quality and commercial management.Demonstrates significant understanding and experience of consolidated planning for capital projects.Ability to lead project teams and key stakeholders to ensure robust project performance.Ability to communicate at all levels in the organisation and to key stakeholders out with the organisation.Highly valuable, Membership of/or working towards membership of a recognised Project Management body.Language SkillsNative French Speaker plus English.
