Job Description
Job Summary:
The Motor Vehicle Mechanic repairs, rebuilds, or overhauls major assemblies of internal combustion automobiles, buses, trucks or tractors.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Diagnosing the source of trouble and determining the extent of repairs required.
- Replacing worn or broken parts such as piston rings, bearings, or other engine parts.
- Grinding and adjusting valves.
- Rebuilding carburetors.
- Overhauling transmissions.
- Repairing fuel injection, lighting, and ignition systems
- In general, the work of the Motor Vehicle Mechanic requires rounded training and experience usually acquired through a formal apprenticeship or equivalent.
- Perform all other position related duties as assigned or requested.
Minimum Requirements:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) with three (3) years related experience working with U.S. Army combat and tactical equipment.
- Relevant experience gained in commercial production control position is acceptable.
- Must possess and maintain a CDL-A and be able to operate a government general-purpose vehicle.
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen and a government background check.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen.
- Must be able to speak, read and write English.
