Responsibilities:

The selected candidate will support both asset and water resource teams. The primary responsibility of this person is to manage and interpret datasets regarding induced seismicity. These include private and public seismic arrays, injection models, water injection volumes and 3D seismic data. This candidate must be able to communicate effectively both internal executives as well as external consortia and governing bodies. Secondary responsibilities would include SWD well planning, permitting, drilling, and completions support.


Major Functions and Scope:

  • Monitor seismic activity and advise management on findings
  • Active involvement in SWD planning and risk mitigation
  • Act as a liaison between asset, water resources, legal, and communications teams
  • Utilize geologic tools such as structural geology, geomechanics and seismic data to risk SWD locations
  • Build fault slip potential models to evaluate SWD locations
  • Actively involved in data acquisition, interpretation & application, including developing recommendations and justification for data acquisition
  • Manage data bases and maps outlining SWD permits, critically stressed faults, recent seismic activity, and offset injection volumes
  • Actively participate and report back findings from industry consortiums and regulating bodies
  • Engage with SWD Operations team to understand ongoing field operations
  • Monitor offset operator disposal activity
  • Act as a mentor to other team members on best practices around induced seismicity
  • Likely to be called upon at night or weekends if activity necessitates

Qualifications:

  • MS Degree in Geology, Geophysics, or Geomechanics
  • Strong understanding of geomechanics required
  • Strong understanding of seismicity monitoring required
  • Must be able to present scientific concepts across a wide range of audiences both internal and external to Endeavor
  • Experience with seismicity in other US Onshore basis a plus
  • Experience building geomechanical models, 3D reservoir modelling, and/or seismic interpretation would be beneficial
  • Must be a self-starter, motivated, with good organizational & reasoning skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and willing to learn other computer applications
  • Experience using Petra and/or Kingdom would be beneficial
  • Ability to work effectively with cross-discipline professionals and individuals at all levels
