Job Description:

As a Telephone Operator, you would be responsible for answering and responding to internal and external calls in the hotel's continuing effort to deliver outstanding guest service.

This position is on call. Shift varies. Must be able to work weekends and holidays.

WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED:

  • At least 6 months of customer service experience is required.

  • Ability to provide excellent customer service in a fast paced work environment.

  • Ability to communicate effectively with guests & co-workers. Bilingual a plus.

  • Knowledge of local businesses, restaurants, area attractions, and community events.

  • Must be able to use computer, telephone and radio is completion of duties.

  • Core competencies needed to be successful in this position are communication, phone etiquette, teamwork, decision making and customer service skills.

  • Ability to sit for long periods of time.

  • High school graduate or equivalent.

WHAT THE JOB DOES:

  • Respond to guest inquiries and requests and resolve issues via telephone in a timely, friendly and efficient manner

  • Provide information and demonstrate knowledge of all hotel facilities and services

  • Respond to emergencies and document and relay comprehensive, accurate information to proper parties in emergency situations

  • Accept and deliver all messages promptly and accurately, utilizing proper grammar and spelling

  • Operate office equipment including, but not limited to, computers, PBX system, fax machine, e-mail, etc.

  • Cross train in other front office positions such as Executive Lounge, Reservations and Front Desk.

  • Perform other related duties as requested by Manager.
