Job Description

Law firm seeking a full-time Legal Secretary who will handle all matters related to a legal office (mailings, client correspondences, calendaring, billing, data entry, document preparation, court filing, contacting court clerks). This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is looking to grow with the firm and work directly with the lead attorneys. The ideal candidate will be extremely organized, have a strong work ethic, and be a critical thinker. You must also be ready to adapt and change strategies on your feet.

Responsibilities:

  • Be responsible for incoming and outgoing mail
  • Drafting and sending client correspondences
  • Calendaring court hearings and coordinating court dates
  • Billing
  • Data entry
  • Aid in document preparation
  • Data input and organization of internal file system

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university
  • Minimum 2 years of work experience
  • Proficiency with web-based tools, including Google sheets, google docs, Gmail, and other similar services
  • Comfort and proficiency with windows-based computers, including Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Suite
  • Excellent telephone communication skills
  • Independent and critical thinking
  • Extreme organization and ability to meet critical deadlines

Desired Qualifications:

  • Prior work in a criminal law firm
  • Prior work in a startup organization
