Maintenance Technician, Residential

Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor and working with your team you are responsible to maintain individual units as well as common areas of the property. Your job will be to perform repairs to minor plumbing, electrical and HVAC units - items could include blocked toilets and drains, broken or damaged components and elements, and installation of new equipment as required. As well you will deal with thermostats, valves, and pumps to ensure optimal operation. In addition, you will monitor and adjust, when appropriate, the building systems (HVAC, elevators, life safety, etc

You will also be responsible for using the Yardi system track daily tasks as well as you will initiate work orders on hand held devices and providing written descriptions of work completed; observe and report on the state of repair of various elements of the property, and estimate material and labour requirements for proposed work.

What you'll need to succeed

To be considered for this very important team player job, you should have at least 2-3 years of relevant experience with property maintenance, or equivalent demonstrated work experience is expected, demonstrated general maintenance skills, carpentry, cabinetry, plumbing, electrical and mechanical, as well as troubleshooting and on call experience. A Trade certification in a relevant field is an asset. You must have a valid DL and access to a reliable vehicle as well as have strong communication and interpersonal skills.
